Rob_wright_penn The last few weeks have me filled with gratitude, excitement and
overwhelm. All pretty typical mom feelings I reckon, though of late, these
feelings are not just inspired by watching my son grow and trying to keep up as
he enters yet another new stage, but by the growth of participation in the
EcoMom Challenge. We now have mothers participating in most of our States, and
the amazingly beautiful and talented actress Robin Wright Penn has also come on board. I am honored by her support, and
by each of you who has begun to take steps for a sustainable future. On behalf
of the future generations of children who will benefit because of your efforts,
I thank you.

Other amazing mothers who have recently joined the EcoMom
Challenge include literary faves like Karen Logan, author of Clean House, Clean Planet and Julie Doherty, a stallholder with Barefoot Books,
educating our
children as the caretakers of tomorrow with their “Support Global Conservation
. . . Go Green, Go Barefoot!” campaign. Way to go EcoMoms!

And though I focus herein on moms, my appreciation of dads is
immeasurable too. Especially dads like father of two, Lucas Heldfond,
who, together with Method Founders Eric Ryan and Adam Lowry hosted a rockin’ equinox party last week at his new ultra-eco-chic SF store, Spring.
Our economy is the world’s largest democracy and by supporting sustainable businesses
that are walking their talk, you are effecting positive social and
environmental change on our planet. As moms, our choices have big impact. You
know those oh-so-easy-to-grab little swiffer-type cleaners and handiwipes? Well
one of the “Dirty Little Secrets” Eric and Adam revealed: Each year, the number
of these wipes that end up leaching their toxins into our earth and clogging up
our land, is equal to 9,000 big rigs. That’s right, you could line them up from
San Francisco to Sacramento. And you can kill bugs with the chemicals you are
“cleaning” with. So make your choice count and shop companies like Method.
As I always say, “Sustain Your Self, Sustain Your Home and Sustain Your
Planet
.” It is all connected and these Method Men get it.
