So you want to be an EcoMom™? Fantastic. And welcome! As a
first step, make sure you visit the EcoMom website and Join the EcoMom Challenge. With just a few easy steps, we mothers can
reduce the United States CO2 emissions by over 656,000,000 trillion pounds. In
the words of Coco Chanel, “One woman can indeed change the world.”
By the way,
you don’t have to have had kids to be an EcoMom™. Just caring about the earth,
caring about animals, or caring about how your life impacts our planet makes
you an EcoMom™. And you must, on that note, calculate your global footprint at www.myfootprint.org. This is really
interesting, and quite astonishing. If you are new to the world of “green
living” the term ecological footprint is a metaphor for the imprint we
leave on our planet by the way we live (i.e. the natural resources used to
build our homes, drive our cars, etc.). It can be a bit depressing when you
realize that we would need 5 planet earths if everyone lived the way you do, but
don’t despair! That is why I started EcoMom™ - to inspire you with eco-chic
options for empowered, hip and elegant green living. Gone are the days of hemp
gunne sax. I promise.
A good place to start? Why the basics of course. Jeans!
My favorites are Del Forte and Loomstate. Both have a great fit and like any good jean, can dress up for a night out, or dress down for taking the kids to soccer. You’ll need some T’s too, and I just can’t get enough
of the Wildlife Works collection. Founded by Mike Korchinsky, the king of Consumer Powered Conservation these are the real deal and people will love the cool
sayings. You’ll love the way you look and feel in the African made, organic cotton. There now, you’re on your way, you sexy
EcoMom™ you!
